Carnival Celebration® has its own Punchliner Comedy Club in the Celebration Central zone, and up on stage you’ll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening. Since some of them get up and say exactly what’s on their mind, we also schedule family-friendly performances… so the only red faces in the audience are from laughing a little too hard. Somebody at Carnival knows just what you need, and it's pretty much exactly the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat™. Look, you'll still be on the same ship as the kids, the hoopla, and all the Carnival-style excitement... But you could easily forget, because when you're at Serenity you could not be further from it all. The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes and, of course, a nearby bar.
Meyer Werft conveys CCL's cruise ship Carnival Jubilee
Carnival Celebration boasts five swimming pools and five hot tubs. Space Cruisers is a brand-new program offered in partnership with the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Eventually, it’ll roll out to other Carnival ships but, for now, you can only find it here, on Carnival Celebration. The ship was initially ordered in 2016, before construction started in 2021. The ship was built by Meyer Turku in Finland at a cost of $1 billion.
More about Carnival Celebration
In mid-January 2018, CCL announced 4 new craft beers that will be brewed onboard Carnival Horizon (and the new ships Mardi Gras and Celebration). They are offered at Guy's Pig and Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse (Brewhouse), The names of the new draft beers are inspired by the BBQ offerings at the Smokehouse/Brewhouse. Festivale Restaurant (MDR/main dining room) is aft-positioned on both decks (6-7).
Free Dining
The décor transports you decades back through time, and this aesthetic is made of actual artifacts from Carnival ships of the past, mixed with design elements inspired by our earliest ships. This may just remind you to think about the fun history you’re creating throughout your vacation. Carnival Celebration's retail shops are spread across all six zones/neighborhoods. "The Carnival Store" (deck 8) features an interactive floor experience. The Luxury Vintage Retail is a boutique promoting responsible fashion.
The adults-only area of the portal will feature a swim-up bar with a DJ, food trucks and more lounging options. The second roller coaster at sea, Carnival Celebration’s BOLT is, of course, one of the ship’s most touted attractions. For $15, guests get a 15-second, 800-foot ride that does a loop and races around the funnel on motorcycle-style “cars” at speeds up to 40 MPH. The caveat here is to not delay if you want to try this unique thrill. Our plans for a late week ride were dashed by high winds and rain, so take advantage of it early, just to be safe. The Ultimate Playground on Decks 18 and 19 has all of Carnival Celebration’s top deck thrills sewn up in one convenient zone.

I also found that the Carnival Hub app worked really well and frequently used it when a paper program was not available to find out what was going on, check my balance, etc. The dining room QR codes worked, too, you can request paper menus if wanted. Another key evening space was the Lido Beach Pool area, which hosts the Carnival Seaside Theater for movie screenings under the stars or the once per week Evolution Party, a wild, glow stick-wielding bash, hosted by the cruise director. There are actually two main show spaces on Carnival Celebration, Celebration Central and the Grand Spectrum Theater. We’re a family of four from Tennessee, traveling the world with our kids. In conclusion, while there were a few minor setbacks, the pros of our trip aboard the Carnival Celebration outweighed the cons.
Family Harbor Staterooms & Suites
Carnival Celebration also includes the BOLT roller coaster that was first introduced in 2021 aboard sister-ship Mardi Gras. For a nominal charge ($15 per person on our Eastern Caribbean sailing), you can have the thrills of riding the only roller coaster at sea. Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Celebration®, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em. Located on midships Deck 4 near the Family Harbor Lounge and neighborhood, Camp Ocean is Carnival Celebration’s venue for children aged 6 months to 11 years.

To start, there are the newly introduced Excel suites, which just premiered on the Carnival Mardi Gras cruise ship. Excel suites differ in terms of what they offer (some are larger than others and feature extra amenities such as private outdoor hot tubs or wrap-around balconies). All, however, offer access to special amenities, such as complimentary access to the new Loft 19 space. During the day, Celebration Central Atrium serves as a relaxing space for enjoying beverages, light food, live music or participating in trivia contests and leisurely pursuits. Celebration Central (midship location on decks 6-7-8) is an expanded Atrium concept combining a day-to-night entertainment complex with a bar lounge (overlooking the ship's starboard side) with 3-decks high floor-ceiling windows.
The Ultimate Playground
Most staff we encountered were seemingly overworked, unduly burdened and unhappy, with Carnival Celebration’s food service staff appearing unusually affected. These formerly complimentary venues – a combination of Mexican and Asian and the Italian-themed Cucina – are now free for the first visit, and $8 per person for all repeat reservations. Design challenges aside, there’s no denying that Carnival Celebration is a total win for multigenerational families from all walks of life looking to cruise together. Families and diversity have always been part of Carnival’s DNA, and Carnival Celebration takes that to the next level. Following one mid-week performance, crew repeatedly asked passengers to clear the entire Deck 6 area so that shows could re-set.
BOLT was a big deal when it debuted on Mardi Gras, and it’s still a big deal now. The second-ever roller coaster at sea, this roller coaster is situated in the Ultimate Playground portion of the ship. There are private cabana rentals (Excel suite guests receive priority access to the cabana rentals), concierge service, lunch delivery and more. Loft 19 is designed as an alternative to the main pool area, and suite guests get access before anyone else.
However, we must note that it also feels more crowded than we are used to. With so many people and so many venues, there isn’t much open space on the ship. We recently had the opportunity to sail aboard Carnival Celebration. Below, we provide a full guide to sailing on the ship, including a tour, tips, things to know, and our full thoughts.
Here’s the most affordable way to experience Carnival Celebration®, without cutting even a single corner in the comfort department. With an Interior stateroom you’ll get a full private bathroom, your choice of bed size and layout — covered in linens you can feel at home in — all of which make this truly a great spot for curling up after a long day’s fun. Rudi’s Seagrill™ is the brainchild of cookbook author and master chef Rudi Sodamin. He has years of experience pleasing palates of vacationers… and this guy loves serving up a smile as much as Carnival does! But he’s serious about seafood, and an evening at Rudi’s proves it through the courses.
Carnival is still keeping details of Gateway and 820 Biscayne under wraps, though we do know that Celebration's main atrium, Grand Celebration, will bring the idea of celebration to life in a multi-level space for all. A seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise departing from Miami on Feb. 5, 2023, starts at $479 per person based on double occupancy, according to Carnival's website, though prices vary by itinerary, stateroom, and other factors. The fare includes most food, beverages such as iced tea and regular coffee, and more. The nearby promenade also features coins for each Carnival ship built into the floor design and a porthole gallery of interactive dioramas depicting various periods in the line's history, as well as "coming attractions," Aprile said. The deli, pizza and Guy's barbecue eateries are all on Deck 8, with a third ice cream outlet in the Heroes Tribute Bar. The only issue with this arrangement is that neither of these spots are big on vegetables; you can no longer get a salad at the pizza venue.
Enjoy selections like seafood bisque and crab-stuffed lobster tail imperial — all served with an elegant flair that pays proper tribute to the beauty of the ocean from which so much fun, and flavor, arises. The port of call will open with one dock capable of handling Carnival’s largest ships, the 6,000-passenger Excel class. Circle C activities may include dodge ball, bean bag tosses, books, board games, cards, scavenger hunts, movies, karaoke, video gaming and other themed activities. After 300 plus cruises, I can attest that the wifi on board Carnival Celebration is by far the best I’ve ever experienced on any ship and that even includes Princess’ Medallion Class. I also found that the single device rule was actually quite easy to negotiate, with a simple click or two to disable one device and activate another. Carnival Celebration’s Empress Casino (the name is a tip of the hat to the Empress of Canada and Empress of Britain, which became Carnival’s first ships, Mardi Gras and Carnivale), is massive.
Go ahead and call Summer Landing 'the greatest chill spot at sea'... BBQ, so we're building a Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse into this zone so it always tastes like summer here with freshly-smoked faves designed by Guy Fieri and original Parched Pig® beers brewed just feet away. If you're wondering where the pool and whirlpool are, we're so alike, you and us... And that's why we're sure you're gonna love The Watering Hole, a poolside bar we're building for aficionados of backyard-style relaxation.
We’re talking restaurants and bars like Latitudes™ with its old-school railway station vibe, The Golden Jubilee™ featuring a unique mix of great drinks and live music, plus Emeril’s Bistro 1397™, which is deliciously all over the map. And don’t miss your chance to sip a little cocktail magic at returning fan-favorite Alchemy Bar®. One of the best things about Carnival Celebration’s size is that it can offer a selection of pools to suit one’s mood. For family-centric fun close to all of the top deck eateries, there is the Beach Pool.
